Hi peoples -
I have two very sick little kids here at home, so I will be out tomorrow (Friday). Please bring Bodega Dreams with you to class. You will need to complete a study guide for Rounds 1 & 2 of Book 2 (what I started reading to you today).
Also, work on this question here on the blog......

my definition of the american dream is having the opportunity to come up from nothing, or very little and make something big of yourself through hard work, and determination.
the definition of american dream is probably coming to the country as joey said with nothing and working hard to make a better life.
The American dream is living the life with a big house a beautiful wife or husband and kids that are perfect. EVerything is right in you're life. I hope your kids feel better.
I think the American Dream is something that each individual has to define for themselves. For some it might be a career in whatever they love to do, for some it might be raising a family, but no matter what it is it's something that only the person themselves can decide. It's about working hard for what you want and not letting anything stand in your way.
The american dream is the oportunity that this country gives to everyone. Everyone wants to have everything like big houses and cars but the real american dream is the work you put out. All of the hard work and blood sweat and tears people put out day in and day out to EARN what they have not to just recieve it.
I believe that the american dream is whatever you want it to be. I believe that once you reach your goals and pursue your dreams and reach and those goals and dreams that that is the real american dream.
Yes, I'll be back tomorrow - keep talking on here - some of you reeeeally need the points!!!!!
the american dream i feel is at the end of the day you are happy. I know i said a different definition in class but here goes another. When you go to sleep at night and you know that day was lived to its fullest and you are happy with your life that is the american dream.
I think the American dream is true happiness.most people never achive it but everyone wants it. There are some people that do most never get what they want in life.
I think that the American Dream is different for every person, but a lot of it is having the chance to achieve your goals and working hard to succeed, so you live up to what you feel is the American Dream.
like i said in class the american dream is to have something or everything your parents and/or ancestors didnt have. That my friends is the american dream
my definition of the american dream is just being happy. it doesnt matter if your bankrupt or a billionaire if your happy your happy.
I like Shawn's answer - all of your answers are great, but Shawn's is very sweet!
My definition of the American dream is to just live a successful life. Many people consider being successful different ways. Whether its being rich, having a family, or just being happy in general. This is my definition of the american dream.
my defintion is just having complete happiness with a loving wife and family if your into that. money really shouldnt have a factor in it but it does for most people.
my definition of the american dream is somebody is happy. It doesnt' matter how much money you have or if your famous. As long as your happy everything should fall into place. To me, being happy is being part of a family (whether is be my friends or family), doing what I love and being heathly and happy with my loved ones. For everyone, the american dream is different.
“Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” written in the United States Declaration of Independence, has inspired me to believe that the American Dream is an opportunity established to every American citizen. When an individual takes the opportunity to raise a family in a secure location, wed, and have an occupation, in my beliefs are the necessary accomplishments needed to achieve the “American Dream.” The only person that decides whether happiness or the American Dream has been reached is you, based on your actions and conquered goals in life.
